| Bow season has already opened up and black powder does this weekend, then rifle. So my husband is gone a lot for hunting. then add in football. So are you having weekends alone at home? Or are you one of the lucky ones??

| Rachael, I so feel you! My hubby is a head football coach of a HS and is gone often. Even though I do my best to make the games, because he is at a Christian High School they travel two and three hours away at times. So, sometimes I make it and sometimes I don't. Anyway, I try to make the most of my time here with the kids and when they are nappin or sleep for the night I try to scrap, talk to friends, watch a movie, read my bible and journal, or clean. Honestly I usually try to do all the cleaning at once so I can actually have time to do some of the other things I love to do :)
Either way, I would rather have him here! He is very good about including me, but it's still hard. I always tell myself, "It's only a season."
So all that to say, I feel you girl! __________________

| I feel for your DH. when I was coaching debate, our average travel time was 4 hours. (I lived in wyoming) We frequently got snowed in or delayed. We traveled 2-4 weekends a month, minimum of 2 days each trip, and didn't see my husband or kids much. It was rough.

| Hi girls! I am definately a football widow!!! My dh is a ref of 4 different leagues! There are some weeks he has games (or meetings) 7 days!! On top of that, he is traveling for work, so from August til December, I am, what feels like, a single mom! I feel your pain! It is quite frustrating, & hard at times, but I do have to say, that he is doing something that he loves (football is his passion), & he makes money doing it. So, what is a gal to do....... when football ends, he just better be as understanding when I want to scrap for 7 days in a row!!! lol.

| DH NEVER complains about my scrapping time. he knows better! When we lived in wyoming, he would go to Elk Camp for 2 weeks! i was a single mom for 2 weeks. Plus all the other crap. He can hunt or fish every day of the year. So he never complains about how much $ I spend on scrapping or how much time. He has let me go out of town for the CKC conventions too. But the messed up thing, all that and we NEVER break even. He still owes me like 3 months and 6,000$! He offered a deal one time shortly after we got married... Every dollar he spends on his jeeps or hunting/fishing stuff, I can spend on crafts. RIGHTO dude!

| I've got a deal like that too. Fish keeping stuff for scrap stuff but I'm the debtor right now. There's no room for more tanks or fish. (or craft stuff) :)

| WOW! I need to make a deal! lol :) Anneliese, thanks for feeling the joyful pain. It truly is bitter sweet for me. Last night my hubbies team won league champs for the first time! It was so exciting, and it made it so worth it to see the joy in the whole team. I was blessed to see my hubby making an impact in the students lives. It was truly fun to be apart of. I know being a ref can be tough too, especially because it's such a thankless job, but there are some joys in it, but some pain too :) awe... so bitter sweet!

| so i just have to share that my DH and his team won for the League title on Friday! It was actually a very fun game to watch! He got the Gatorade dumped on him. Oh, fun times! We are excited for playoffs! Hopefully it won't be too cold to take the kids!

| awwww, the gatorade dump! My debate team won both our district (which in debate means you qualify for the national tournament and completely separate from the state competitions) AND State 4A. Thank goodness there is no gatorade dump in debate! Just got eternal fame and my name in the paper and on a plaque and lots of hugs! Oh, and the envy of my bff who was a rival coach! So exciting for your hubby! and I agree about the thankless job of refs. I know their calls aren't always perfect or one that I agree with, but as the child of a MOM who yelled at my volleyball refs, I will NEVER publicly decry a ref. They are many times unpaid and you don't redicule and heckle the drycleaning guy or the girl at Mc Donalds, why would you do it to a ref?

| That is so exciting for your dh! WTG! Now where do you live?? Because my dh is on a playoff crew, so he will be doing playoff games now. They start this weekend. He refs in the Eastern Pa area, but may go further now that he is on a playoff crew.
And congrats on your debate team win, Rachael! That is great news as well! What an accomplishment. You must be proud of your team!

| Nope, Pennsylvania. That would've been funny though, wouldn't it have? We haven't gotten a call yet, if he has a game this weekend or not, so maybe he will have a week off. Who am I kidding, he has a game already Friday night for the regular season. Hey, wishful thinking!!!

| Well, it was really cold here for a few weeks, to the point we had to turn the heat on. The past 2 weeks, we are kind of going through an indian summer. The temps have been in the 70s. I do not go to the games. Emma is 4 & Audra is 2, & Audra's attention span is that of a pea. So, I would not be able to watch, but have to chase her around. Maybe when they are a bit older. I know that you go to your dh's games, right?

| That's funny, Cathrine. I am not a huge sports fan either. I put up with it for my dh, & as far as his reffing goes, all the power to him. It is his passion, so if he can go & be around it, participate in some way, & make money doing it (to support my scrap habbit...just kidding!!), that is fine by me. I think the season is winding down. It is into the playoffs, & he was advised that he has a game this weekend, which means his crew will probably not go to states. You know, the politics of it all.....
Julie, how is your dh's team doing?

| My husband has never been interested in hunting and we watch the football games together from the comfort of our own home so I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. My best friend however is a hunting widow.

| Our whole family are football nuts. This is the first year our football team has gone undefeated for longer than 8 games, and we are at 9, so we are loving it. DH has season tickets and sometimes I go, most times, his dad. At home on Sunday or Monday, we have a big group of my dd's friends and we cook and scream!!

| I would for my dh to be home so we could watch fb together. I am not a fan, but if he were home, I would definately watch with him. His loss! right?? lol.
And watching w/ lots of family & friends, that sounds like fun. DH doesn't like a lot of people around, he gets distracted to easily, so he wouldn't be able to watch the game. He is nuts!
